The Project | The Voyage 11/12 | Summer–HSHS | HSHS–Archive
< If you want to know what happened during the project 2003, visit the diary that was written by the pupils. During the summer vacations 2005 (16th July to 12th August 2005), the third voyage of the Summer High Seas High School with students aged between 12 and 15 took place. Again, the voyage rounded the British Isles. And again, the cruise has been a language holiday based on a system of education through practical experience rather than classroom studies.
The Summer–HSHS voyage 2005 again started in Kiel, and via Arendal (Norway), Portree (Scotland), Peterhead (Scotland), Stomness (Orkney, Scotland) and Portsmouth (England) the tallship reached the last port of the cruise, the German city of Bremerhaven. While sailing around the British Isles, the members worked in projects which prepared the sojourns and certain cultural aspects of the regions visited. They also learned how to sail the ship until, at the end of the voyage, they have been given the responsibility to sail the ship on their own without the help of the adult crewmembers.
