Our First Week in Norway

Now, already only one week passed since we went on bord of the historical ship „Seute Deern“ for our one month-sailing trip. It was a week full of different experiences and a lot of fun. Just now, we`re sitting on the front deck of the ship and in the distance we can see Oslo. It´s a very nice view.
We´ve sailed a long way to be here.
Our start was in Rostock, where the weather was very nice and continued to be like this throughout the whole week. Except for Monday evening, when the weather turned really stormy. In the beginning of our watch, the waves were only 1.5 meters high, but soon the highest were over 3 meters high and we were no longer allowed to be in the front part of the ship. A lot of people became seasick and we hardly slept.
The storm started ca. 20:00 and went on until 3:00 o’clock in the morning. We were very happy when we finally arrived in Risoer. After a delicious breakfast and some more sleep we went geocatching.
A lot of us were sad because we weren’t able to change money there, to buy things like ice-cream and sweets as Norwegian stores apparently donut except Euro. The next day we sailed to a Pirate Bay, were we were allowed to Tarzan-jump from the main sail. A very nice place to stay for one night. Sadly, we had to leave for Sarvern a beautiful small island where we had to wait for 3 hours until the bridge opened and let us enter further into the Oslo-Fjord. After that we went to Toensberg. Where we slept one night and had a very delicious BBQ party.
XD

We are looking forward to the next week on bord,
Julian and Nicolas
